Prolific Roxyfet makes it five for the season

9th March 2016

French bred six year old Roxyfet (6/4) chalked up his fifth success of a fantastic season as he won the feature 2m3f handicap chase at Catterick this afternoon in the hands of his regular partner Fin O’Toole.

Having already won four times at Sedgefield this winter, including on Sunday, Roxyfet finally showed that he can be just as effective away from the Durham course as he reeled in My Friend George and The Shepherd King coming down to the last and stayed on dourly in the testing ground to win by two and a half lengths.

Roxyfet may only be six years old but this was his seventh win over fences and the eighth win of his career, he’s been an absolute superstar for us this season having run 16 times and we’re really enjoying seeing him revelling in the soft ground and showing everyone what he’s capable of!

The only other horse who has ever won five races for us in a single jumps season was Choice Challenge way back in 1990/91 so Roxyfet has made a little bit of history today and although the handicapper is bound to catch up with him soon, we’ve given him an entry at his beloved Sedgefield next Tuesday and if he runs there, we certainly wouldn’t bet against him making it six….
