TWO RUNNERS ON FRIDAY.

We are on the all weather at Newcastle, and also on the turf at Musselburgh, where the going is currently described as good to firm, good in places.

At Newcastle, Footonthegas will make his all weather debut at 4.30.pm, in the 0-50 Classified Stakes, over 10 furlongs, where he will once again be partnered by Aiden Brookes who has been on board for all of his four previous starts. Footonthegas who has never raced beyond a mile, has finished down the field in three novice and maiden events, before making his handicap debut at Pontefract 32 days ago, when failing to get competitive after being slow away from the stalls.

Storm Spirit is our runner at Musselburgh, and she goes to post for the final race at 8.50.pm, in the 0-65 Amateur Jockeys handicap, over one mile and five furlongs, where she will be partnered by Becky Smith for the first time. Storm Spirit has been placed in two all weather bumpers, but has struggled in all four of her handicap flat starts, including in a first time tongue tie last time, which is retained here. Her handicap mark has now dropped 10lb from her opening mark, and this looks a fairly competitive race, although there are only six runners.
