TWO RUNNERS ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY.

We have two declared runners at Ripon on Monday, where the going is currently described as good, and they have been watering.

Odd Venture steps back down into 0-50 Classified company at 4.55.pm, over the extended nine furlongs, where he will be once again partnered by Aiden Brookes. Odd Venture's last win came in this grade at Mussleburgh just over a year ago, but over three furlongs further. This is a step down in trip for Odd Venture, who was a winner at the distance when trained in Ireland in 2021. The blinkers he has worn the last twice are now removed.

At eight years old Irv is having a second lease of life, having already won on two occasions this season, to add to his two wins at York as a three year old, and a success at Beverley just over two years ago. Irv was a shade below his best last time, but didn't have the race run to suit, but still finished a commendable five and a quarter lengths seventh. He now steps up to nearly a furlong further, when going to post for the 5.30.pm, in a 0-65 amateur jockeys handicap, over 30 yards shy of 11 furlongs, with Becky Smith retaining the ride.
