We take two down to Market Rasen on Wednesday where the going at the time of writing is good, good to soft in places.
Getaway Jewel was the model of consistency when running over hurdles last season, winning once and placing on a further four occasions. He has run four times over fences recently, which has seen his jumping improve with each run, and saw him finish third at Catterick on his penultimate start. On his last run at Sedgefield 15 days ago Alain Cawley very wisely pulled him up, as he thought the horse had gone lame, so that run can be ignored. The race is a two miles and one furlong 0-105 novices handicap chase at 4.05.pm, with Alain Cawley retaining the ride.
Our other runner is Who's The Guv'Nor who goes to post for the 4.40.pm, a 0-105 handicap chase over two miles and five furlongs, with his regular jockey Alain Cawley in the saddle. Who's The Guv'Nor has had a stop and start career to date interrupted by injury, but he has shown on occasions that he is more than capable of winning a race. His best run was at Market Rasen when finishing second in a novice hurdle in May of last year, form which if taken at face value would make his current rating of 95 look very lenient. This will be his fourth start over fences, and he would prefer a sound surface.
