We have declared three runners for Wednesday, with two making their way up to the all weather meeting at Newcastle, and the other going to Ripon, where the going is currently described as good, good to firm in places.
At 10 years old Quoteline Direct probably knows a bit too much about the game, but to his credit, he more often than not runs his race. In his later years he has tended to reserve his best for Wolverhampton, but he is more than capable of running well at Newcastle as well. He goes to post for the 0-55 handicap at 5.19.pm, over 10 furlongs, where he will have the added advantage of Robert Havlin in the saddle.
Bonne Vitesse will face just three rivals at 7.50.pm, in a 0-75 handicap over two miles, with Robert Havlin taking the ride. Bonne Vitesse bounced right back to form at Ripon last time in a race where the form is working out well, she was a comfortable winner that day, and the 4lb rise seems fair. The one question mark is the Tapeta surface, as in four previous attempts on the all weather she has failed to reach a place, but those races were back in 2020, and 2021, and she has matured since then.
With form figures of '3222-322' you could be forgiven for jumping to the conclusion that Anjo Bonita is one paced, or even a touch half-hearted when it comes to a battle, but visually nothing could be further from the truth. Anjo Bonita is a late comer to handicaps as she has contested maiden and novice events so far, and has just been unlucky to come up against some very well bred, and very expensive bred in the purple opponents. She starts her handicapping career at Ripon from a fair mark of 74, in the 6.35.pm, in a 0-75 fillies handicap, over the extended nine furlongs, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.
