We have three runners on Monday, one over the jumps at Catterick, and two on the all weather at Wolverhampton.
At Catterick, where the going on the chase course is currently described as good, good to soft in places, we will be represented by the seven year old mare You Say Its Over, who goes to post for the 0-105 mares only handicap chase at 2.30.pm, over the extended three miles and one furlong, with Danny McMenamin on board for the first time. You Say Its Over who has placed form from similar marks over hurdles from last season, makes her second start over fences, having finished sixth at this track 19 days ago. She probably found the trip on the short side that day, and this significant step up in distance will play more to her strengths.
At Wolverhampton where the Tapeta surface is judged as standard, Evoluir is declared for the 0-50 Classified stakes at 7.00.pm, over seven furlongs, with his regular rider Aiden Brookes in the saddle. Evoluir has a nasty habit of missing the break, so how he starts here is essential to his overall chance. He is in stall eight, which is not the best draw over Wolverhampton's seven furlongs, and if he is slow away, life will be tough on this sharp track. He is running well at the moment, but will need everything to fall just right here.
Our final runner of the day is Dundory, who runs at 7.30.pm, in the 0-50 Classified stakes, over one mile and four furlongs, with Aiden Brookes once again booked to take the ride. Dundory who at nine years old is well in to the veteran stage of his career as a flat horse, now drops in to Classified company for the first time. Since arriving at the yard last autumn he has only beaten one of his 37 rivals in his four starts, which is reflected in his current handicap mark.
