THREE RUNNERS AT THIRSK ON FRIDAY.

The going at Thirsk on Friday at the time of writing is good to soft, good in places, but the forecast is for warm weather so it will probably dry out to at least good.

We ran our first two year olds of the season in two different divisions at Thirsk 14 days ago over seven furlongs and they both turn out again, but this time in the same race at 1.00.pm, a novice stakes over a mile. Fiftyshadesaresdev had been slowly away but tagged on to the main group once the penny dropped, and he should be more worldly wise this time. Merlin's Gold who ran in the second division will need more time, and we won't see the best of him until next season, but he will also gain great experience from these races.

Fiftyshadaresdev will be ridden by Conor Bearsley, and Merlin's Gold by Dougie Costello. Frankelio has been declared for the 3.15.pm, a 0-85 handicap over seven furlongs. He made his seasonal debut at Thirsk from today's mark of 69 when finishing third, and then at York a week later, he at the very least equalled that effort when finishing in second place. He wasn't so good at Pontefract on his latest run, but has been given a 60 days break since, and he does go well when fresh, our stable apprentice Aiden Brookes who is on board for the first time will claim 7lb.

Good luck to the connections, Resdev, S Nicols, and Forty Forty Twenty.
