THREE RUNNERS AT CARLISLE ON THURSDAY.

The going at Carlisle at the time of writing is good, good to soft on the chase course, and good to soft on the hurdles track.

Applaus returns to his favourite course where he has already won on three previous occasions, when he goes to post for the 1.20.pm, which is a 0-120 conditional jockeys handicap hurdle, over two and a half miles, with Emma Smith-Chaston taking the ride. At 11 years old Applaus is wise to the game, and when racing he prefers to race wide of the field, which has worked to great effect on more than one occasion in the past.

Milajess made her stable debut for us at Hexham 13 days ago, when failing to stay their stiff two and a half miles. She raced on 11 occasions when trained in Ireland previously, with her standout piece of form coming back in May of this year at Clonmel, when finishing an excellent runner up in maiden hurdle company, She runs at 4.10.pm, in the 0-105 handicap hurdle, over two miles and one furlong, with the champion jockey Brian Hughes retaining the ride.

Lincoln Burrows hasn't been seen since winning over hurdles at Newcastle back in April, for which the handicapper has raised him 7lb for this chase debut. Lincoln Burrows is a lightly raced slow maturing type, so there should be plenty more to come over the course of this season. He makes his debut under rules, over fences at 4.45.pm, in the 0-115 handicap chase, over two miles, with his regular jockey Henry Brooke in the saddle.
