THE START OF A BUSY WEEK IN SCOTLAND.

We send two up to Kelso on Tuesday, where the going at the time of writing is good, and they are watering.

We have 19 entries for the three day Perth festival later in the week, but first it's Kelso, where the lightly raced five year old mare Isabel De Clare goes to post for the 0-95 mares only novices handicap at 3.05.pm, over the extended two and a half miles, with Josh Thompson back in the saddle. Isabel De Clare will carry top weight, but judged on her excellent fifth at Wetherby on Boxing Day, which she nearly matched back at that track in February, her mark is fair. She hasn't been as good on her two latest handicap starts, but she was found to be under the weather last time. She will run in first time cheek pieces.

Foster'sisland wore first time cheek pieces last time at Wetherby (which are retained) when keeping on into a 12 lengths fifth finish, that was a better run than of late, and the handicapper has since dropped him a further 2lb. He is now 9lb below his last winning mark, and 14lb below his career high of 129. Foster'sisland who will be having his 40th career start under rules runs at 4.12.pm, in the 0-125 handicap hurdle, over the extended two miles and four furlongs, with his regular rider Emma Smith-Chaston in the saddle.
