We have declared four runners for Carlisle on Sunday, where the going on the hurdles course is currently good to soft, soft in places, and on the chase course where it is currently described as soft, good to soft in places.
Lincoln Burrows is first up at 12.20.pm, in the 0-110 conditional jockeys handicap hurdle, over two miles and three furlongs, where he will be partnered by Josh Thompson for the first time. Lincoln Burrows who returns after a 240 day break is now back to his last winning mark, achieved at Newcastle in April 2023, he performs best with plenty of cut underfoot, but has always improved for his first run back after a long break.
Master Breffni was progressive during his six starts for us last season, after arriving from Ireland. He was a winner at Carlisle in March, and bettered that three weeks later when finishing runner up at Hexham. He now makes his chase debut in a very hot looking Class 3 novices chase where he will face six rivals. He could pick up some decent prize money, while gaining his first experience of jumping fences. Master Breffni runs at 12.55.pm, over two miles, with his regular rider Conor O'Farrell in the saddle.
Jolie Maresca who was runner up on her only start to date in a Irish point to point back in March, makes her stable and rules debut at 1.25.pm, in the novices hurdle, over two miles and three furlongs, with Connor O'Farrell booked to take the ride. Jolie Maresca who is the fifth produce of her RPR 131 winning French dam, is also the half sister to the RPR 125 dual French hurdles winner Via Maresca.
Shighness who is already the winner of a bumper, three hurdles races, and a chase, still has her best years in front of her as she turns eight next month. She continued her progression over fences last season, producing her career best when finishing runner up at Wetherby when last seen in March. Shighness can go well fresh, and has previously won twice after returning from a substantial break. She runs at 1.55.pm, in the 0-130 handicap chase, over the extended three miles, with her regular rider Brian Hughes in the saddle.
