THE RETURN OF KING OF UNICORNS.

We have three declared runners for Pontefract on Friday evening, where the going is currently good to firm, good in places, and they are watering to maintain.

Cedar Rapids who was very consistent when trained elsewhere, showed us on his yard debut at Ripon two weeks ago that he still has all of his enthusiasm, when finishing a close up fourth. The trip that day probably stretched his stamina, and this step back down to a stiff mile looks about right. He runs in the 6.25.pm, in the 0-75 handicap, with Billy Garritty taking the ride.

King Of Unicorns returns from a 335 day break when going to post for the 7.55.pm, in a 0-75 handicap over a mile, with Billy Garritty retaining the ride. King Of Unicorns looked above average when winning a bumper in 2021, and has since had five runs on the flat, showing us that with an injury free run, he will be winning his fare share of races. He starts back from a mark of 70, and with him still being lightly raced, it is a mark he can make good use of.

Final Chant will make his handicap debut from an opening mark of 55, following his three qualifying runs, when he goes to post for the 8.25.pm, in a 0-70 maiden handicap over 10 furlongs, with Andrew Mullen standing in for the suspended Aiden Brookes. Final Chant raced twice as a juvenile, and made his seasonal debut at Redcar 46 days ago, and will now step up in trip, in what is realistically his first real chance of getting competitive.
