The admirably tough and consistent The Resdev Way goes to post at Ripon on Thursday in the days opening event at 1.45.pm, in the 0-55 Ladies Derby Handicap over 12 furlongs, on ground described as good, where he will have the assistance of his regular pilot Becky Smith. The Resdev Way has ran over hurdles the last twice, and although not able to match his flat form, nevertheless showed that he remains in good form. His mark of 55 on turf is still 4lb lower than his all weather mark, and that could be decisive here.
Our other representative is the three year old Resdev Thunder who makes his handicap debut at 5.10.pm, in a 0-60 handicap over 12 furlongs, with Andrew Elliott who has ridden him the last twice in the saddle. Resdev Thunder has raced in three maidens to date over six furlongs, seven furlongs, and a mile, and he now takes a significant step up in trip. This will be the horses first realistic chance of winning a race, but he has shown next to nothing to date so far.
