SWAREZ.

SWAREZ. 26 May 2012. Echo Of Light-Behlaya. Owner-MKjp Racing.

Swarez is a lightly raced eight year old gelding, who has run in five point to points, one bumper, five hurdles races, and six chases, all for another yard, to date. His dam, Behlaya was rated 75 on the flat, when trained by Tim Easterby, back in 2006, and she was placed in the first three, in 12 of her 19 races. She is also the Dam of Pont Aven, a winner of two races for Willie Mullins, who achieved a rating of 137 over fences.

Swarez has been trained by County Dublin trainer Paul Stafford, for all of his runs to date.He started out contesting five point to points between April 2017, through until February 2018, but failed to complete on all occasions, falling twice, and pulling up three times. He then ran at Downpatrick in a bumper, completing for the first time, finishing seventh of the ten runners, beaten 43 lengths. He then made his first visit to England for his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter in June, picking up prize money for the first time, when finishing forth of the six runners, beaten 41 lengths

After a summer break he returned at Navan, in November, in a novice hurdle, making no show, and then on Boxing Day at Leopardstown, he was once again well in rear, but now had a handicap mark.He made his handicap debut at Fairyhouse in January 2019, and from an opening mark of 84, he was beaten 17 lengths. In March he made his second visit to England, when finishing tailed off in very heavy ground behind his future stablemate Dontdelay.

He has raced on six further occasions since then, between April, to August of last year, each time over fences. His best effort was when he fell in a beginners chase at Tramore in May, when still in touch in forth place,at the third last, giving hope that he has the ability to win a handicap from a low mark. He has his first entry for us at Southwell next Monday.
