We have declared two runners for Catterick on Monday, where the going is currently riding as heavy.
Rioja Alta will make his British and stable debut at 1.30.pm, in the maiden hurdle, over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, where he will be partnered by Conor O'Farrell. Rioja Alta has shown above average form when trained in Ireland, to finish third on the flat in maiden company at Roscommon last September, and his two ventures in to handicap company since, have seen him staying on over middle distances in heavy ground, so he is an exciting prospect.
Singapore Trip has now run for us on three occasions since arriving from France last autumn, and on his last two starts he has shown that he is a winner in waiting. On his penultimate start at Newcastle he was third, and then at Wetherby 30 days ago he improved on that from a 6lb higher mark, to once again finish third. He will now race from the same mark again as last time, when he goes to post for the 0-120 handicap hurdle at 2.0.pm, over two miles and three furlongs, with Conor O'Farrell on board for the first time.
