SIDNEY STRATTON CONTINUES HIS EDUCATION.

We send two on the short trip to Thirsk on Friday evening, where the going is currently described as good, good to firm in places, and they have watered.

Sidney Stratton who is by the 2019 2000 Guineas runner up King Of Change, and out of an unraced Dansili mare, made his racecourse debut at Redcar 26 days ago, when given a kind introduction by Aiden Brookes, to finish eighth. He will have learned a lot for that initial run, and we should see the benefits here, with handicaps further down the line in mind. Sidney Stratton runs in the first at 4.55.pm, in the novice stakes over seven furlongs, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.

Odd Venture is our other representative, who goes to post for the fourth race at 6.30.pm, a 0-65 handicap, over one mile and four furlongs, with Aiden Brookes, who won on him just over a year ago, retaining the ride. Odd Venture was last a winner at Musselburgh in July 2023, but when running in the 2024 renewal 24 days ago, he failed to do a repeat from the same mark. Odd Venture wore blinkers that day, and they have now been replaced by the returning cheek pieces, last worn in 2022, when he was trained in Ireland.
