The official going at the time of writing for Thirsk on Tuesday is good, good to firm in places, while over at Beverley for their evening meeting it is also good, good to firm in places.
At Thirsk, Myboymax goes to post for the 2.20.pm, a 0-70 handicap over his favoured 12 furlongs, with his regular rider Aiden Brookes in the saddle. Myboymax has now finished in the runner up spot on all of his last four starts including at Pontefract 18 days ago where he came there swinging in to the straight, and probably traded at big odds on in running, but surprisingly he failed to get past the horse in front, and went down by one length. Myboymax always appears to give his running and there is no reason to think that he wont be in there fighting at the finish again.
Over at Beverley Miltown Lily will make her stable debut at 7.45.pm, in a 0-55 handicap over 10 furlongs, with Andrew Elliott taking the ride. Miltown Lady arrived in May from the Irish stables of John McConnell, having raced eight times as a three year old last season. Although she is yet to finish in the first three her form has shown a gradual improvement, culminating in a five lengths fifth on her latest start on the all weather 223 days ago.
Irv obviously doesn't retain the ability that saw him win twice at York as a three year old back in 2019, but at Thirsk last time from a much reduced mark of 56 he came as close to winning as he has done in quite a while when finishing fourth, only one length behind the winner at the line. He has once again been lucky with the draw, but it is now 24 runs since his last win. The race is a 0-55 handicap over the extended mile, with Graham Lee retaining the ride.
