PIECEDERESISTANCE TO RUN IN THE QUEEN MOTHER'S CUP.

We have four declared runners on Saturday, with two going to York, where the ground is currently riding good, good to soft in places, and we also send two up to Hexham, where the going is also good, good to soft in places, at the time of writing.

Piecederesistance is first up at York in the 0-90 'Queen Mother's Cup Handicap' for Female Amateur Jockeys, at 1.50.pm, over the extended one mile and three furlongs, where he will be partnered by Becky Smith, who has ridden him on five previous occasions. Piecederesistance made his seasonal debut at the Dante meeting over this course and distance, when finishing an excellent runner up from 1lb lower than now, and from a decent draw he should be in the shake up again.

Carnival Zain also made his seasonal debut on the Knavesmire, three weeks ago, when keeping on well, although being denied a clear run, to finish seventh, for which he has been dropped 1lb. Carnival Zain is a well handicapped horse on the best of his form from 2022, and he should also go well in an ultra competitive handicap. He runs at 2.25.pm, in the 0-95 handicap, over seven furlongs, with Aiden Brookes retaining the ride.

Our two runners at Hexham go head to head at 5.27.pm, in the 0-100 handicap chase, over three miles. Buto who will make his chase debut, turns out quickly after having a spin round on the flat on Monday at Pontefract, which should have done him a world of good. Buto has been out of sorts over hurdles of late, but was a winner from 1lb lower than now at this track a year ago. Emma Smith-Chaston will take the ride.

We are also represented in the race by Dark Duomo, who since arriving at the yard last autumn has mixed hurdling and chasing. He has now raced on seven occasions for us, and is yet to find his form, but the ability is there, as on his last run for his previous yard he finished second over hurdles from 13lb higher than now, so a return to that form would make him a danger to all. He will be ridden by Conor O'Farrell for the first time.
