Don't ever think that you've got racing sussed because it will always come back to bite you on the bum. Onenightintown who had won just one of his previous 32 starts, having often looked reluctant to go through fully with his effort, looked a completely different horse at Sedgefield on Tuesday afternoon when always travelling comfortably under Becky Smith, and having only to be pushed clear to win be a fairly easy two and a quarter lengths.
So what made the difference? The opposition was similar to what he normally takes on, and he has run on the same type of going and track many times. The step up to two miles and five furlongs has definitely made a difference, and today he raced a lot more prominently that usual, that is my best conclusion at this time.
