We have two runners at Market Rasen on Friday, where the going is currently described as good to soft, soft in places.
Monaco Rules was the winner of a hurdles race at Cholet in France last October, before joining us. He then made his yard debut in a hot Class 2 hurdle at Haydock 44 days ago when he was given a kind introduction to finish a 20 lengths fifth. That form has been franked by the second and fourth placed horses both running with credit since. He faces two other previous hurdles winners when he goes to post for the extended two miles and two furlongs novices hurdle at 12.15.pm, with Brian Hughes retaining the ride.
It can be argued that Geryville has run his best races at Market Rasen, most notably when finishing runner up in the 2022 'Lincolnshire National,' from the same mark as now. That race was over nearly a half a mile further than now, but he is equally as effective at this trip. Geryville is yet to hit form in two starts this season, but should be now fully tuned up for this. Geryville runs at 3.45.pm, in the 0-120 handicap chase, over the extended two miles and seven furlongs, with his regular rider Brian Hughes in the saddle.
