We have one runner over the jumps at Southwell on Monday, where the going is currently described as good, good to soft in places.
Monaco Rules was the winner of three flat races and a hurdles race when trained in France for his two different trainers, all in races with plenty of give underfoot. He has kept decent company in his three races over hurdles for us, and probably put up his best performance for us last time at Newcastle when staying on into third, for which the handicapper has left him on the same mark of 112. That rating gives him every chance of winning in novice hurdle company, where he meets three other previous winners.
Monaco Rules runs at 3.30.pm, in the novice hurdle, over two and a half miles, with Brian Hughes retaining the ride.
