MISTER MCARTHUR DECLARED FOR RIPON.

Just the one runner on Thursday at Ripon, where the ground at the time of writing is soft, heavy in places.

Mister McArthur continues his education in a good looking one mile novices stakes at 4.40.pm, with our stable apprentice Aiden Brookes riding him for the first time. Mister McArthur made his debut in a bumper at Catterick in heavy ground back in February when finishing down the field, looking in need of the experience. He was due to make his flat debut at Wetherby after that, but he refused to go in the stalls, so his first run on the flat came 10 days ago at Redcar, where he was much more amenable in a first time hood, eventually finishing ninth of the 16 runners, beaten by 19 and a half lengths.

Mister McArthur is a horse that will need time physically and mentally, and we will probably see the best of him when he gets his handicap mark.
