MASTER GUSTAV.

The winter jumping season is once again approaching, and we will have many familiar old faces returning, as well as several new ones making their debuts. Over the coming days and weeks I will be providing detailed essays on some of our horses that will hopefully be in the winners enclosure very shortly.

MASTER GUSTAV. 23 June 2016 Mahler-Annaghbrack Owner-Mrs B M Lofthouse

Master Gustav has the honour of running in the same colours as our stable star Cornerstone Lad. His sire Mahler who is a son of the great Galileo was runner up in the 2007 St Ledger, and has gone on to produce top class National Hunt performers. Master Gustav's dam should have provided a little speed into the pedigree as her sire Rudimentary was a half brother to Kris, and Diesis. The dam only ran in three bumpers, and failed to make any impact, but at stud she has produced five offspring that have seen the racecourse, including the very exciting Assemble who won Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase in September 2021, earning a official mark of 155. Master Gustav has raced on one occasion to date making his racecourse debut at Wetherby in bumper company in March 2021 when finishing a highly respectable staying on third under Billy Garritty. The horse who was three and a quarter lengths in front of him in second place came out next time at Perth in April and won by 10 lengths. TO BE CONTINUED.
