We have two runners on Saturday, with Burnage Boy declared on the flat at Redcar, and Late Date making the trip up to Perth.
Burnage Boy continues to mix flat racing with jumping, and all being well he will also take his chance at Cartmel a week on Friday. On Saturday he will run in the 0-60 handicap over 14 furlongs, where he will once again be partnered by our stable apprentice jockey Aiden Brookes who has won on three of his last four rides. Burnage Boy has found it difficult to get his head in front over a variety of distances, and could find this trip stretching his stamina.
Late Date will make his 14th appearance at Perth, when going to post for the 5.23.pm, a 0-105 handicap hurdle over three miles, with Jack Hogan retaining the ride. Late Date who was a winner at Perth back in 2017, and also has plenty of placed form at the track, ran his best race for some time at this course when last seen 38 days ago when finishing third over an inadequate two miles and four furlongs. A repeat of that kind of form will see him go very close here, and any rain would be a bonus.
