We have one runner at Pontefract on Thursday, where the going is currently described as good, good to firm in places.
The first time cheek pieces that King Of Unicorns wore at Redcar last time certainly had the desired effect, as he stayed on well to finish in the runner up spot, showing his first good form since returning from 11 months off the track, on what was his fourth start back. The cheek pieces are retained, and this step up in trip is probably a plus.
King Of Unicorns runs at 4.05.pm, in Round 5 of the Pontefract Stayers Championship, in the 0-70 handicap, over the marathon two miles and one furlong, with Billy Garritty who has previously won a bumper on him, back in the saddle.
