KIDS SAY LASTGOJOE ATTEMPTS TO WIN HIS OWNERS RACE.

We have five runners on Saturday, with four making their way to Newcastle, where the going is currently described as good to soft, soft in places, and we also have a runner on the all weather at Southwell.

First up at 12.48.pm, is Kids Say Lastgojoe, who will try to win the race which is sponsored by his owners company the 'Newcastle Flooring Gabrielle Buzzeo Lynch Birthday' novices hurdle, over the extended two miles, where Bryan Hughes will once again be in the saddle. Kids Say Lastgojoe has raced in two bumpers to date, building on his initial promise, when winning at Catterick just over six weeks ago. He obviously appears to have a very bright future in front of him, but this race has attracted some promising types, which may, or may not please the sponsors.

Monaco Rules is next up at 1.23.pm, in the two miles and four furlongs novices hurdle, where Conor O'Farrell rides him for the first time. Monaco Rules was the winner of two flat races, and a hurdle race, when trained in France, and he wasn't disgraced when finishing fifth on his yard debut at Haydock 31 days ago, when finishing fifth in a 'introductory' hurdle, where the runner up that day, and the fourth horse, have both franked the form since.

Coup De Coeur will carry the same colours at 1.57.pm, in the novices limited handicap chase over two miles, where Brian Hughes retains the ride. Coup De Coeur had a productive time last season winning twice, and made a more than satisfactory return when finishing second at Wetherby in November. He returned to fences 11 days later at the same track, with a solid third, and with that experience behind him, he should get his fare share of prize money again this season.

Halpha Soleil was also a dual winner for the yard last season, and he made his chase debut at Hexham 24 days ago, when showing up well until lack of a recent race took it's toll, and he weakened from two out. He jumped well for his first effort over fences, and will strip fitter here. Halpha Soleil goes to post for the 0-110 handicap chase, at 2.32.pm, over two miles and four furlongs, with Emma Smith-Chaston who was on board for those two successes last term, retaining the ride.

Our runner on the all weather at Southwell is Evoluir, who drops in to 0-50 Classified company for the first time. The race is at 4.03.pm, over seven furlongs, with Aiden Brookes taking the ride. Evoluir has raced on three occasions for us, and a further 11 when trained elsewhere, and was a winner at Southwell last October. He has run credibly for us without making the first three, and this will be only his second start over seven furlongs, so we will find out if he can see out the trip.
