Our three year old filly, Just Jean makes her seasonal debut at Thirsk on Monday, in the 1.50, Andrew Mullen who rode her in three of her four races as a two year old will take the ride.
Just Jean runs in the 'Middlesbrough' colours of Mr. and Mrs Paul Chapman, colours of course made famous by our top class chaser Just Cameron.
Just Jean made her racecourse debut at Ripon over six furlongs just over a year ago, finishing a very promising second of six. The winner of the race went on to be rated 91, and the third horse, finished it's season with a Racing Post Rating of 100,but the forth placed horse, has since been well beaten off 64 in a handicap.
After such a promising debut, it was a big disappointment that in three further runs she couldn't get competitive, but she has been off the track for 10 months, and been given plenty of time to mature, mentally, and physically.
She races in a three year old handicap,0-60, off a mark of 58, and is one of five, of the 11 runners making their handicap debut. She has a good draw in stall four, but whether a mile will stretch her stamina, only time will tell.
