IRV IN SEARCH OF A QUICK THIRD WIN.

We have two runners on Saturday, where the going for Nottingham is good to firm, good in places, and at Carlisle where the ground is currently considered good to firm.

At Nottingham, Irv runs at 5.35.pm, in the 0-65 amateur riders jockeys handicap, over 10 furlongs, with Becky Smith taking the ride. The combination were second in this corresponding event a year ago, from a 3lb lower mark than now, and with Irv in his current form he should make another bold bid. He may not be the force of old at eight years old, but the fire is still burning bright.

At Carlisle, Carnival Zain will find these calmer waters more to his liking, after contesting two hot York handicaps recently. He is now 10lb below his last winning mark, and in those nine starts since that last success he has run with promise on several occasions. Carnival Zain will come out of stall 10 which could have been better, when he goes to post for the 0-80 handicap at 8.20.pm, over a mile with his regular rider Aiden Brookes on board.
