Irv rolled back the years on Sunday afternoon at Pontefract, when the eight year old won by one and a quarter lengths with a little bit in hand under Aiden Brookes, who was winning for the first time with his now reduced claim of 3lb.
Irv was a dual winner at York as a three year old back in 2019, and has returned this season after a break with the fire in his belly still burning strongly, as this was his second success in his last three starts.
