We have three runners on Tuesday, with two jumpers at Catterick, on what is currently described as good to soft, and one runner on the Tapeta at Newcastle in the evening.
Belle Na Bann has shown her best form for us over shorter trips, but her form for her previous yard shows that she will definitely stay. She was entitled to need that first run back in almost six months at Sedgefield in November, and will have come on a great deal for that. Belle Na Bann who is 2lb above her last winning mark runs at 2.30.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over two miles and three furlongs, with Emma Smith-Chaston, who was on board when she last won, taking the ride.
'If he gets his ground it will be interesting,' is something I have written here before. Most horses become well handicapped because they have lost their form, either from a physical problem, or losing interest in racing, but I don't think either apply to the luckless Getaway Jewel, who simply needs going without the words soft of heavy in the description. If by any chance he finally does get his ground he will be a danger to all from this much reduced mark. Getaway Jewel runs at 3.00.pm, in the 0-105 handicap chase, over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, with Brian Hughes who has won on him four times previously retaining the ride.
At Newcastle, B Associates has his fifth start for us since arriving at the yard back in September. He is the winner of eight of his 41 starts to date, including once on the all weather, but is yet to get competitive for us, which has seen his mark slip to 3lb below his last success. B Associates runs at 5.30.pm, in the 0-65 handicap, over seven furlongs, with Aiden Brookes, who has ridden three times previously in the saddle.
