GETAWAY JEWEL IN BID TO DOUBLE UP.

We have declared three runners for Saturday, with two representatives going to Cartmel, and another to Market Rasen. The ground at both tracks is good, and both are watering to maintain.

Onenightintown is now a maiden after 26 starts, but has twice finished second at Catterick and Sedgefield back in March. He appears to have ironed out many of his quirks which held him back in his younger days, and if able to run up to either of those two runs he will get in to the frame here. The race is a 0-100 handicap chase over two miles and one furlong with Becky Smith back in the saddle.

The Very Thing was a winner in a first time visor at Catterick back in January, but in two subsequent starts he failed to make any impression, with the softer surface at Wetherby in March being of no help to his breathing. He was right back to his best at Market Rasen in April when finishing second from a 2lb higher mark than now, but on his latest start also at Market Rasen in May he made no show. He goes to post for the 4.43.pm, in a 0-100 handicap chase, over the extended three miles, with Becky Smith retaining the ride.

Getaway Jewel finally got his act together over fences at the ninth attempt over this course and distance 13 days ago when readily winning under the champion jockey Brian Hughes, who retains the ride, by eight and a half lengths. The handicapper has taken no chances by raising him 10lb to 95, which is also the mark he won off at Sedgefield over hurdles in April of last year. Getaway Jewel will face only two rivals at 4.25.pm, over two miles and one furlong, in the 0-110 handicap chase.
