We have two declared runners on Monday, with Getaway Jewel going to Southwell, where the ground is currently riding good, and The Resdev Way making his way down to Wolverhampton for their evening meeting, where the Tapeta surface is currently riding as standard.
Getaway Jewel will face four rivals at 2.25.pm, in a 0-105 handicap chase, over the extended one mile and seven furlongs, with the champion jockey Brian Hughes, who has won on him on two previous occasions, taking the ride. Getaway Jewel showed that he is running back in to form with an excellent second at Newcastle on his latest start 41 days ago, and although the handicapper has put him back up 3lb, he is still 3lb below his last winning mark. He has the trip, and the going in his favour.
The Resdev Way is being kept busy, after an excellent second at Wetherby on his penultimate start, he couldn't go the pace over 12 furlongs at Ripon four days ago, so this step back up in distance to 14 furlongs will suit. The Resdev Way has been a visitor to Wolverhampton on many occasions during his 104 race career to date, and was last a winner at the track in April of last year. He runs at 5.25.pm, in a 0-55 Amateur Jockeys handicap, with Becky Smith taking the ride.
