GERYVILLE TRYING FOR A REPEAT.

We have five runners on Saturday, with three going to Wetherby for the biggest day of their season, 'Charlie Hall' day, where the going is currently described as good, good to soft in places. We also send two down to Southwell for their evening meeting on the all weather.

The ex Irish Know The Game makes his stable debut in the first at Wetherby at 12.40.pm, in the novices hurdle, over two miles, where he will face five rivals, with Brian Hughes doing the steering. Know The Game has mixed hurdling with chasing in his 21 race career to date, winning over fences in handicap company back in December 2022. This will be his first start since June, and we will know more about him after this.

Piecederesistance has finished runner up twice on the flat this season from marks in the 70's at York and Newmarket, making his opening hurdles mark of 105 look fairly attractive. He was second over the jumps on his latest start at Fakenham 15 days ago after being badly hampered at the first, and if he can reproduce his best flat form he will be a danger to all. Piecederesistance runs at 3.32.pm, in the 0-140 handicap hurdle, over two miles, with Brian Hughes on board for the first time.

Geryville was a winner at this corresponding meeting three years ago on his stable debut by 12 lengths, and he now returns after a six months break, and it is easy to forget that he is still only eight years old. Geryville is an out and out stayer who should be competitive in good class handicaps again this season. He runs at 4.08.pm, in the 0-120 handicap chase, over three miles, with Brian Hughes who won on him back in March retaining the ride.

At Southwell, Arranmore takes a significant step up in trip when going to post for the 0-55 handicap at 4.50.pm, where he will be once again ridden by Aiden Brookes. Arranmore has been running well over 10 furlongs recently, but the step back to a mile at Newcastle last time probably was the reason for him under performing. He now tries a mile and a half for the first time in his career.

Flying Panther makes his stable debut at 8.30.pm, in the 0-58 handicap, over a mile, with Aiden Brookes taking the mount. Flying Panther is the winner of four of his 26 career starts to date, having raced out of three different yards since making his debut as a two year old in 2022. He was a winner on his most recent start at Wolverhampton 36 days ago, and now races from a 2lb higher mark.
