We send five representatives on the short journey up the A1 on Tuesday to Sedgefield, where the going is currently considered to be soft.
First up at 12.15.pm, is Coup De Coeur, who on his second start for us was a solid third over this course and distance 19 days ago. That was a big step forward from his stable debut at Wetherby in October, where he fell three out when on the retreat. A repeat of that latest run should see him at least make the frame. He runs in the extended two miles novice hurdle, with the champion jockey Brian Hughes on board for the first time.
Kildrum was returning from a near six months break when finishing fifth at Hexham 18 days ago, in a race where he was well entitled to need the run on his favoured heavy ground. Kildrum won two races last season by very wide margins, and for that he remains 11lb above the first of those successes. He runs at 12.50.pm, in the 0-105 handicap chase, over three miles and three furlongs, with Emma Smith-Chaston, who is now fully recovered from her fall at Hexham last Wednesday, retaining the ride.
Polisud made his stable debut for us at Wetherby back in January after arriving from France, when pulling up, but he was found to have scoped dirty after the race. We didn't see him again until 23 days ago at Carlisle, where he once again failed to complete. He has had his setbacks, but hopefully now he will get a fair crack at things, and make the most of his sliding mark. He runs at 1.20.pm, in the 0-120 handicap hurdle, over the extended two miles and three furlongs, with Brian Hughes on board for the first time.
Contre Ordre as the name suggests, is another ex French recruit, who after seven starts for us in just over a year ran his best race last time at Sedgefield, when keeping on into a close fourth. That run puts him bang in the picture here, although he will want a fast run race with this drop back in trip. He runs at 1.50.pm, in the 0-100 handicap chase, over two miles and one furlong, with Emma Smith-Chaston retaining the ride.
Trac was having his first start back in over seven months at Wetherby 24 days ago in Class 3 company, when pulling up, although he did sustain an injury on his right hind. He will find this company much more to his liking, but he does remain 5lb above his last winning mark at Sedgefield in February. He goes to post for the 2.50.pm, which is a 0-100 handicap chase, over two miles and three furlongs, with Henry Brooke on board for the first time.
