We send five up to Perth on Thursday, where the going is currently described as good to soft, good in places.
Magnolia who has been declared on Wednesday in the 4.22.pm at Perth, has also been declared on Thursday as well in division 1 of the 0-115 handicap hurdle at 2.25.pm, over two miles and four furlongs, with Josh Thompson booked to ride. All will depend on how she runs on Wednesday as to her participation, but she appears to be running into form, having improved on each of her three starts for us since arriving from France last autumn.
Singapore Trip was the model of consistency last season, winning in May at Perth, and placing on a further four occasions. Since his seasonal return last November he has failed to match those runs in five starts, which has seen his mark slip 3lb below his last winning mark. Singapore Trip goes to post for division 2 of the 0-115 handicap hurdle, over two miles and four furlongs, at 2.55.pm, with his regular rider Brian Hughes in the saddle.
At 11 years old, age could be catching up with Mister Bells, who has struggled for form in his five starts this season. On his day he is very good, as he showed when winning a veterans race easily at Catterick last season from 13lb higher than now. He is certainly weighted to go well, it just depends on whether his old legs will let him. Mister Bells runs at 3.25.pm, in the 0-110 conditional jockeys handicap chase over the extended two miles and seven furlongs with his regular rider Emma Smith-Chaston taking the ride.
We are doubly represented at 5.36.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over two miles. Shadowfax Of Rohan who will be ridden by Josh Thompson, will make his handicap debut from a mark of 88. He showed a similar level of form when placing in all three of his bumper runs, but hasn't been as good in three hurdles races this term, but he will have a lot more chance to get competitive in this handicap company.
Belle Na Bann is our other representative in the race, and will be partnered by Emma Smith-Chaston, who has won on her twice previously. Belle Na Bann was at her best last season when winning twice and finishing second, but she hasn't matched those good efforts so far this time, although she did finish a 14 lengths runner up at Catterick four runs ago. Belle Na Bann can now race from 4lb below her last winning mark.
