We have two declared runners on Wednesday, with Fiftyshadesaresdev running on the all weather, and Mandarb having his second start over the jumps.
Fiftyshadesaresdev who has twice finished runner up over 11 and 12 furlongs at this track recently, runs again at Southwell, in the 0-55 handicap at 11.55.am, over 12 furlongs, with his regular rider Joanna Mason in the saddle. Since we last saw Fiftyshadesaresdev over this same course and distance 54 days ago when finishing sixth, he has had his wind done, and with that, and first time cheek pieces added to the tongue tie he has worn on occasions before, he could find that little bit extra to get him off the mark.
Mandard is our other representative, who goes to Wetherby for the two miles juvenile hurdle at 3.05.pm, where he will once again have the services of Brian Hughes taking the ride. Mandard was a dual flat winner in France as a three year old, including on his final start at Deauville last August, which earned him a BHA rating of 75. He has raced twice for us, at Doncaster on the flat, and lately on his hurdles debut last November at Wetherby where his jumping let him down. His flat mark suggests he is a horse of above average ability, and he should be an exciting prospect over jumps in due course.
