We have two runners on Sunday, with Getaway Jewel making the trip down to Fakenham, where the going is currently good, and Dragons Will Rise a bit closer to home at York, where the going is also described as good.
Getaway Jewel lines up at 2.20.pm, for a 0-105 novices handicap chase over the extended two miles, where he will be partnered by Becky Smith, who was third on him at Catterick back in December 2020 over hurdles. Getaway Jewel ran with encouragement at Sedgefield when up with the pace all the way 19 days ago, when finishing runner up, and he looks capable of building on that from his lowest mark yet of 85.
Dragons Will rise goes in search of win number 9 when going to post for the 3.30.pm, at York, a 0-85 apprentice handicap over the extended one mile and three furlongs, where he will be partnered by Aiden Brookes for the first time. Dragons Will Rise once again ran with great credit last time at Newcastle when finishing fifth, beaten by three lengths off his highest mark yet of 80, the same mark that he runs off again. This is the highest quality event he has participated in to date, and he will also step up in trip by a furlong and a half for the first time, where he faces 19 rivals in a maximum field.
