We send two to Catterick on Wednesday, where the going is currently described as good.
Balkotic who has always been better on a sounder surface, returns from a three and a half months break at 3.55.pm, in the 0-110 handicap hurdle, over three miles and one furlong, with his regular rider Emma Smith-Chaston in the saddle. Balkotic who is a course and distance winner from 8lb higher than now back in November 2022, but hasn't been at his best in four runs this season, will face four in form rivals, but he is now a well handicapped horse.
Royle Steel is another who prefers to hear his hooves rattling, so he will also have conditions in his favour here. He has been struggling for form since winning over fences at Sedgefield eight races ago, which has seen his mark tumble by 15lb since that run. Royle Steel who probably didn't see out the marathon trip at Sedgefield last time, will have the aid of first time blinkers at 4.30.pm, in the 0-100 handicap hurdle, over two miles and three furlongs, with his regular rider Josh Thompson taking the ride.
