Ajabindejaw joins Oakwood Minions

8th February 2018

The latest horse to carry the colours of our Oakwood Minions Racing Club will be eight year old gelding Ajabindejaw, who has recently arrived here in the Dales from County Meath, where he was trained by Irish Grand National winning handler Thomas Gibney.

By Mahler out of an unraced Overbury broodmare, Ajabindejaw has run in six hurdle races at trips ranging from two to three miles and comes to us as a novice and a maiden, he has an official rating of 90 and we’ll learn a lot more about him when he goes racing, which could be as soon as Catterick on Monday where he holds an entry in the two mile Northern Lights hurdle qualifier.

Ajabindejaw joins nine year old staying chaser Major Ridge in the Oakwood Minions stable, Major Ridge has already won for club members at Catterick last season and their yellow and blue silks were also carried to victory on the Flat in 2016 by loveable but fragile dual purpose gelding Summerlea (pictured below).

Membership of Oakwood Minions costs £80 per month with owners’ badges, stable visits and regular updates on your horses all included, we might even throw in a few lessons on how to pronounce Ajabindejaw’s name….if you’re interested in joining our friendly team then click here for more information!
