Micky had a break from racing in 2001 for personal reasons and has restarted effectively from scratch. He has already made good progress since his return, and is extremely hungry to achieve even more success. He describes it as “unfinished business”. The stable team at Oakwood Stables understands the needs of owners and prospective owners in today’s time-poor world. We are fully committed to making your ownership experience a memorable and exciting one, whether you lease a horse for a day, join as a small partner in a Partnership or own your own horse outright. We will do whatever it takes to ensure you enjoy your time with us. Our training methods are extremely sympathetic to our horses. We NEVER run them on going which is too firm or too soft, and we hire the very best available veterinary care to ensure our horses are in the best possible shape. We believe this gets the best from horses at whatever level of ability, and extends their careers. We’re in a beautiful spot on the edge of the Dales, and easily accessible from Cleveland, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire by road, with Teeside and Leeds Bradford airports less than an hour away. Our rates are extremely competitive. We are based in the North and so can keep costs fairly low.
