The Rat Pack
Membership of the Rat Pack Racing Club is currently FULL, why not check out our other exciting syndicates and clubs?
Membership of the Rat Pack Racing Club costs just £20 to join followed by £20 per month and we really believe that this is the best value owners’ group around!
As a member of the Rat Pack you’ll get all the owners’ benefits and you’ll have three horses, with Rat Pack stalwart Auldthunder (pictured above), who’s been a real revelation this season, joined for the summer by six year old Oratorio gelding Le Deluge, a five time middle distance winner who has recently come to us from Heather Dalton and is lurking on an attractive handicap mark, and Stickleback, our hugely popular dual purpose mare who won over hurdles at Wetherby last year.
As a member, you’ll receive the following benefits:
* An owner’s badge whenever one of your horses runs, giving you access to owners and trainers facilities for the entire day (if oversubscribed this may be on a rotational basis but it doesn’t happen very often!)
* Join us in the parade ring before and after your horses run – talk to the trainer, the jockey and be the first to get the post-race reactions!
* Stable visits
* A chance to see your horses exercising on the gallops
* Regular email updates
The Rat Pack horses
Previously with John Best, Mick Easterby, Ann Stokell and most recently Heather Dalton, Le Deluge is a six year old son of Oratorio who’s won five races from 36 attempts, three of which have been on the all weather.
His most recent win came over ten furlongs at Lingfield in November off a mark of 58, he went up 5lbs for that but he was rated 90 just a couple of years ago so if the change of scenery is to his liking, there’s no telling how far he could go!
Cast your mind back to Carlisle at the end of November, you might remember our seven year old Manduro mare Stickleback running an absolute stormer on her second start of the jumps season, showing real guts and determination for our head girl Becky Smith as they chased home the enterprisngly ridden Finaghy Ayr in extremely testing conditions in the gathering gloom in the final race on the card.
Stickleback, or “Fish” as she’s fondly known in the yard, joined us back in 2013 from Harry Dunlop and she’s been a different horse since we freshened her up with a nice break the following summer, she’s is improving with age over jumps and she gained her first ever success under Rules over three miles in soft ground at Wetherby last winter. That win came off a rating of 84 but she showed at Carlisle that she’s going to be competitive off higher marks and we think there’s plenty more to come from her after just thirteen hurdle races, while there’s no reason why she can’t lose her maiden tag on the Flat too, possibly in one of the staying races around Pontefract.
